Our Rooms

Our spacious and thoughtfully designed bedrooms provide a peaceful and comfortable retreat for our residents. Each room includes a hand basin and toilet for added convenience.

With a variety of room options available, residents can choose a space that best suits their preferences. Some rooms feature stunning dual-aspect views of the coastline, while others offer direct access to a private patio area, allowing residents to enjoy the fresh air in a tranquil setting. Corner rooms with sea views provide an extra touch of serenity, making each living space truly special.

All rooms benefit from natural daylight, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Each room comes fully furnished with a profile bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a bedside table as standard. However, we encourage residents to bring their own furniture and personal belongings to make their space feel more like home.

Arts & Crafts

At The Check House, our arts and crafts program is open to all residents, regardless of their experience with a pen or paintbrush. We believe that creativity is for everyone and actively encourage participation in a variety of artistic activities. From painting and colouring to seasonal craft projects, our sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for self-expression, relaxation, and social engagement.

We offer a wide range of materials to support residents in creating beautiful works of art and meaningful keepsakes, which they are welcome to keep and cherish or gift to their loved ones—subject to a simple risk assessment for safety.

Private Terrace

At The Check House, our beautiful garden terrace provides the perfect outdoor retreat for residents to relax, socialise, and take in the breathtaking coastline views. Thoughtfully designed to create a peaceful and inviting space, our outdoor areas feature a well-maintained lawn, a spacious patio, comfortable seating, and raised planters that residents are welcome to help maintain.

Whether enjoying a quiet moment in the fresh sea air, chatting with friends, or simply admiring the stunning surroundings, our garden terrace is a cherished part of daily life. With a gazebo offering a shaded spot and the seaside breeze adding to the tranquil atmosphere, residents can experience the joys of outdoor living in a safe and comfortable environment.

The Snug Inn

The Snug Inn at The Check House Care Home is a charming and welcoming space, designed to recreate the warmth and character of a traditional English pub. Offering a cosy and familiar setting, it provides residents with the perfect place to unwind, socialise, and enjoy a drink in a relaxed, pub-like atmosphere.

With classic décor, comfortable seating, and an authentic bar area, The Snug Inn evokes fond memories of time spent in local pubs. Whether residents are sharing stories over a drink, enjoying a quiz night, or celebrating a special occasion, this inviting space fosters companionship and a true sense of community.
